Last week, our Principal Data Scientist was in picturesque Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, presenting our TraumaCare.AI poster at SAIL 2025 (https://sail.health/event/sail-2025/). Here’s her take—straight from the source
I spent last week in Río Grande, Puerto Rico, showing off our TraumaCare.AI poster at SAIL 2025. The work, done in partnership with the University of Cincinnati and University of South Alabama Hospital, uses EHR data to flag high-risk trauma patients early (details here: https://www.traumacare.ai/post/sail-2025-poster-presentation).

SAIL was a chance to swap ideas with some seriously sharp minds from across healthcare and machine learning. The conversations—especially the questions about our work—are already helping us decide where to take the project next.
What I appreciated most was that the conference went beyond technical advancements. There were important conversations about ethics, equity, and how AI will impact future healthcare roles, workflows, and the communities we serve.
Big shout-out to the SAIL crew for pulling it together. Now, back to the code so we can have even better answers next year.
