My name is Nitya Patil, and over the past two months, I've had the pleasure of collaborating with the incredible team at TraumaCare.AI, leveraging artificial intelligence research to tackle one of trauma care's critical challenges: ICU readmissions.
ICU readmissions are costly and often indicate premature discharge or undetected clinical deterioration during care transitions. TraumaCare.AI is committed to enhancing patient outcomes through intelligent, data-driven tools. My role involved conducting comprehensive reviews and analyses of cutting-edge machine learning models that track key clinical indicators such as vital signs, lab results, and severity markers, critical factors in predicting patient outcomes.
This research sets a solid foundation for developing more robust and accurate predictive models at TraumaCare.AI, enabling proactive clinical interventions and safer patient transfers. Throughout this experience, I've learned about the fast-paced world of start-ups, how they function, and the incredible teams that are behind them. This has been an amazing experience!

This fall, Nitya Patil will begin her junior year at Georgia Tech, majoring in Industrial and Systems Engineering with a minor in Financial Technology.
As our Data & Research Analyst Intern this summer, she made valuable contributions, and we wish her every success in the future.
